Malek Historical House; From a House to the Art and Handicraft ُُSkills Center

Malek Historical House is now one of the main training centers in Mashhad for who appreciate the Arts and Handicrafts. Let’s read more about that

Let’s go rounding through Mashhad and get walking among the streets of this historical, religious city located in north eastern part of Iran. Mashhad in one of the main cities of Iran and it is known for Imam Reza Holy Shrine so the most visitors and tourists come to this city are here for religious tours and mostly come from the Islamic countries but It does not mean that Mashhad has nothing interesting for non-Muslim travelers. You can come here and explore the streets and enjoy yourself visiting the old houses in historical neighbors, test foods in the best restaurants of Iran, visit the museums and talk to friendly people

Malek Historical House

Malek historical house is located in Imam Khomeini street (the eastern side) and it belongs to the late Qajar period and has been recorded as a national works of Iran (number 2115) on 18 September 1998

The original building has much wider in the past but now only the outer part has remained which includes two floors. The upper floor has lattice, wood carvings ceiling and there is a beautiful Stucco fireplace

Malek Historical House is now the center of training traditional arts to conserve the cultural heritage of khorasan area and especially Mashhad City (as an old and touristic city). The main element of this House is its bathroom (Hammam) which is the only private bath house in the city remained from the Qajar period

This house is a living art center which several art and handicrafts have been trained here for years. Miniature, painting on cloth, needlework, carpet weaving, carpet designing and engraving on precious stones are of training courses that have been training in Malek Historical House and you will have the chance to  get familiar with some of the best masters of mashhad handicrafts here

The House had belonged to Haj Hossein Malek who was born in Tehran but lived in Mashhad to run his father’s estate and before his death he devoted the house for public usage
